SCIENCE

I study something called CRISPR molecules. Scientists have repurposed these molecules to make super babies, cure cancer or bring back extinct wooly mammoths. But I am (unfortunately?) not doing any of that.

CRISPR molecules originated inside bacteria tens of thousands of years ago. What are they doing inside bacteria? That's what my research aims to help figure out.

The podcast Radiolab has a pretty good episode covering the background of CRISPR

My research advisor is Dr. Luciano Marraffini. Check out his lab website

You can check out my scientific publications for an academic look at what I've been studying.
